Junior Shelby Balding and sophomore Addison Price helped Cherry Creek capture its first girls 5A team title since 2006 and fourth in program history at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Balding, who missed last year's state final while on crutches, finished fifth by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 18:20.51 and Price took 10th in 18:41.62 to contribute to the Bruins' 42-82 victory over defending champion Arapahoe.
