Cherry Creek sophomore Riley Stewart won the 5A girls title in 18:12.3 at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championships on the 5-kilometer layout at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Stewart improved from her fifth-place finish in 18:42.5 last season to become the first Cherry Creek female athlete to win a state title since Jordyn Colter in 2011. Stewart also helped Cherry Creek place second overall to Arapahoe by a 69-99 margin.
